As smartphone cameras evolve towards higher resolution, 50MP image sensors have become the standard choice and are now widely used across main, ultra-wide, telephoto, and front cameras. Meanwhile, market demand for pixel sizes is becoming more segmented. According to estimates, CIS with pixel sizes of 0.64μm and below, as well as 0.8μm, collectively account for over 68% of the total shipments, making them the mainstream choice in today's smartphone imaging systems.

In response to this demand, GalaxyCore has launched two new non-stack 50MP image sensors: GC50F0 and GC50D1. GC50F0 is the world's first non-stack image sensor with 0.64μm pixels, designed for a broad range of smartphone camera applications. GC50D1 adopts the 0.8μm pixel specification and is primarily used for main, ultra-wide, and telephoto camera.
With this, GalaxyCore has established a comprehensive 50MP product system covering specifications with 0.64μm, 0.7μm, 0.8μm, and 1.0μm pixel size, offering smartphone customers more flexible and diverse imaging solutions.
GC50F0: High-performance 0.64μm 1/2.8" 50MP CIS, compatible with various smartphone cameras

GC50F0 adopts 0.64μm pixels based on GalaxyCell 2.0 technology, and supports full-resolution output of 50MP (8192×6144). Combining high resolution, high dynamic range, and low-noise imaging performance, GC50F0, with its 1/2.8" optical size, flexibly adapts to various smartphone lenses, including main, ultra-wide, telephoto, and front cameras.
Based on the GalaxyCell 2.0 technology platform, GC50F0 achieves approximately a 50% reduction in read noise and random telegraph signal (RTS) noise compared with sensors of the same specification, thereby improving signal-to-noise ratio and low-light image quality.
GC50F0 supports 4C binning, and merges four adjacent pixels into a 1.28μm large pixel to output 12.5MP images, further enhancing pixel sensitivity, low-light imaging details, and reducing noise.
Additionally, the product supports 4K 60fps high-frame-rate recording and phase detection autofocus, ensuring smooth and clear video capture with precise focusing.
GC50F0 integrates DAG HDR single-frame high dynamic range technology. In scenarios with high contrast, such as backlighting, it prevents overexposure in bright areas while retaining details in shadows, so as to achieve "what you see is what you get" in preview, photo capture, and video recording. In motion scenarios, it can also output high dynamic range images without artifacts, with low power consumption.
Currently, several brand customers are evaluating the product.
GC50D1: 0.8μm 1/2" 50MP CIS, compatible with main, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto cameras

GC50D1 adopts 0.8μm pixels based on GalaxyCell 2.0 technology, offering advantages such as high sensitivity, high dynamic range, and 100% full-pixel autofocus. It supports 4K 60fps high-definition smooth video recording, equivalent 2x optical zoom, and is compatible with main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses. The product is in shipping and will soon be mass-produced.
GC50D1 integrates DAG HDR single-frame high dynamic range technology, which can effectively retain image details and enhance the image's dynamic range in complex lighting environments with both strong light and shadows.
The product adopts 100% full-pixel phase detection autofocus technology (4-Cell PD), enabling faster and more accurate focusing while maintaining high sensitivity, so that imaging in low-light scenarios is clear and stable.
To address zoom requirements, GC50D1 supports telephoto CRA and adopts a more compact Pad Pin Layout design, helping to reduce the Z-axis space occupation of periscope modules and providing greater flexibility for the internal layout of the entire device. In addition, GC50D1 supports hardware Remosaic for the central pixel area, enabling smartphones to achieve an equivalent 2x optical zoom experience.
Continuously strengthened high-resolution product system

With the launch of GC50F0 and GC50D1, GalaxyCore expands its high-resolution image sensor lineup, offering multiple pixel size options to meet different smartphone camera needs.
Products including GC50F0 and GC50D1, were developed and validated based on GalaxyCore's proprietary 12-inch wafer manufacturing platform, demonstrating the efficiency of the Fab-Lite model in high-resolution CIS R&D and mass production. Multiple products also feature 12-bit DAG HDR, continuously driving the evolution of CIS products towards higher dynamic range.
In the future, GalaxyCore will continue to focus on the smartphone imaging application requirements and continuously develop image sensors with higher resolution, higher dynamic range, and smaller pixels, in order to facilitate the continuous upgrade of smartphone images.
