GalaxyCore Launches Two 50MP Image Sensors to Enhance Imaging Performance Across Smartphones and Smart Devices

2026.03.25

GalaxyCore has launched two 0.8μm 50MP CMOS image sensors, GC50D3 and GC50602, designed for high-performance smartphone rear cameras and PTZ / action cameras respectively, further advancing imaging upgrades across a wide range of smart devices.

GC50D3 is the second-generation 0.8μm non-stack 50MP image sensor launched by GalaxyCore for high-performance smartphone rear cameras. It improves key performance aspects such as autofocus, noise performance, and full-well capacity to meet the latest requirements for mobile imaging.

PTZ and action cameras are rapidly evolving toward higher resolution and more advanced imaging capabilities. 4K is now standard in many products, while higher-end models are moving to 8K. These devices also need high frame rates, wide dynamic range, and good low-light performance. Featuring a 0.8μm pixel size and a 1/2-inch optical format, GC50602 supports DAG HDR, PDAF, and 4K 60fps video output for a wide range of smart imaging applications.

GC50D3: Second-Generation 0.8μm 50MP Mobile Image Sensor

Full-pixel autofocus for more stable capture. GC50D3 features 100% Pixel Phase Detection Autofocus (4-Cell PDAF), enabling full-coverage focus detection. It supports accurate autofocus in both fast-moving scenes and low-light conditions, helping freeze memorable moments.

Smooth and clear 4K video. GC50D3 supports 4K 60 fps video capture. Combined with PDAF, it delivers smooth and clear video with reliable focus tracking.

Reduced noise for better low-light performance. GC50D3 further optimizes noise performance. Measured results show that Read Noise is reduced by about 27% and RTS Noise by about 40% compared with the previous generation. This helps preserve more details in low-light scenes and improves overall image quality.

2x lossless zoom for flexible composition. GC50D3 supports 2x in-sensor zoom, achieving equivalent to 2x optical zoom. This gives smartphone cameras more flexibility at commonly used focal lengths.

GC50602: High-Resolution Imaging Solution for Smart Devices

GC50602 adopts a 1/2-inch optical size and 0.8µm pixels. It can output 50MP images at full resolution or achieve equivalent 1.6µm pixel size through pixel binning, balancing both high resolution and low-light image quality.

This product also integrates the DAG single-frame HDR technology to retain more highlight and shadow details in complex lighting conditions. It supports RAW10/RAW12 output with efficient data transmission via the MIPI CSI-2 interface.

For video, GC50602 supports 4K 60 fps capture, making it suitable for motion imaging and real-time video applications. It also features 4-Cell PDAF for more accurate focusing on moving subjects.

With its high resolution, HDR capability, and high-frame-rate video support, GC50602 can be used in PTZ cameras, action cameras, large-screen conference systems, and high-pixel IPC products.

Both products are now available for sampling. Their launch reflects GalaxyCore’s continued development in high-resolution imaging products. Leveraging its Fab-Lite model, GalaxyCore will continue to respond to market demand, accelerate product iteration, and deliver a broader range of imaging solutions for global customers.
